So far, I have gathered quite a wealth of information and new knowledge through my research interviews with professionals and professors! I would like to thank them for taking time out of their day to allow me to interview them and question them about specifics of their field and sharing with me their stories, backgrounds, and thoughts.
My first interviewee was Davidovich, a Moderator for the Stoneworks Minecraft Server who resided in Austria. He had requested that I only use his first name for the research interview report. This was back when my focus was still on modding overall, since Stoneworks has a branch server, Cinders Modded, to which my interviewee was a former Senior Administrator of. He shared with me many of the behind-the-door and not well-known aspects of being with a modding team, such as issues with international time zones, team cohesion, and the general difficulties of working in a corporate hierarchy.
My second interviewee was Jeff Price of The University of Texas at Dallas. Instead of game design and modding, he provided me a new idea to which I can look into; Virtual Production, which combined elements from both game design and video production. It was the perfect field to enhance both my game design skills and overall video editing skills as well, and all that time I have no idea that it was even a thing!
To sum it all up, the interviews were an enriching experience for me, and I look forward to meeting more professionals in the future.
