District Showcase Afterthoughts

Just came back from the ISM Research Showcase hosted in the Ford Center at the Star. The whole event lasted quite a long time as I arrived around 5:30 p.m. and finally got home at 11:30 p.m. thanks to an after-event gathering at a local Olive Garden.

To begin, my journey to the Ford Center was luckily not that confusing. Although I did get caught up in traffic and had some trouble finding parking space, I thankfully did not get lost, and the wonderful staff directed me to my destination.

Overall, the showcase experience was about as much as I expected. I stood there and presented, most of the people who visited my station were ones that I invited, the whole event lasted till 8:30 p.m. and my legs were sore and aching when it finished. I enjoyed speaking to others about the Esports website final product as it is a subject I am interested in, but I find that most people would rather prefer to hear about topics such as neural networks or whatever science or health-related field is next to me.

Oh well, it wasn't a great experience, but it certainly was not terrible either, mostly just a "meh".

What I can complain, however, is that I arrived home at 11:30 since we decided to dine at an Olive Garden after the event. The food was ok, which makes me getting home this late not worth it.
