Yesterday (10-5-2022), I attended the Business Symposium in Panther Creek High School! I had to wake up at 5:30 am in the morning and drove about half an hour, so that wasn't the best start to the day, First impressions of Panther Creek were that it was much more advanced and felt "newer" than Independence High School (They actually had turf in their courtyard! Compared to our rocks and dead trees!). After that I had to drive back to my house (since my mom needed the car in the afternoon), and there was this whole mess with needing to return to school on time. Pain, misery even.
There were a wide variety of professionals, ranging from law to literature. Unfortunately, I could not find a professional that worked in the specific field that I had taken interest in. Fortunately, their advice and insights were still very useful!
Mr. Putnam shared his journey through education, how at first he was a bioengineering major, but then one day found out that he would rather work with people, and switched to a finance firm instead. He told us to follow our hearts in college; yes, even though our parents wanted us to attend some ivy-league school, it would be very expensive and extra stressful to do so, so just settle for what you think is right.
Another looked at our resumes and gave us tips on how to improve them, including adding hobbies and personal details to show that we are just normal high school students and include talking points, and adding pictures and other additions.
